Faith Formation

We have Faith Formation (Sunday School) for children, youth and adults from September through end of May. Our Faith Formation hour is from 9:30-10:45 am. See below for description of various topical studies that are offered this year.

SundaySchool1Children & Family Ministry

UpStreet, Faith Formation for ages 3 years to 5th grade, 9:30-10:45 am, in the Education Building

We offer the 252 Basics program for K – 5th Grade and Bible Story Basics for ages 3 years – Pre-K. Both programs offer an environment appealing to children which reinforces our goal to help children “do the right thing” and know that God loves them, and that Jesus is their forever friend. An emphasis is also placed on building a love to come to church. Infant and toddler care is available in the nursery.

Children’s Church

This is a special time for children aged 3 years to 3rd grade on Sundays during the worship services (check the service program to see if Children’s Church is happening that day, usually only during 11 am Sunday service, and 10 am Sunday service during the summer). Following the Gospel reading, children who would like to are directed to the Chapel for “Children’s Church” activities.

Adult Education

Our team is back from summer break and there are some great discussions happening in the groups that meet each Sunday morning at 9:30 am:

  • The Lectionary class discusses the material for the following week’s sermon. This group meets in the Library.
  • The Wired Word discusses current events. The lessons aren’t even available until Thursday that week, to be as up to date as possible. This group meets in the Chapel.
  • The Prayer Shawl group knits and crochets prayer shawls. This lovely group will happily teach you either skill, so join them on Sundays in Room 6 and also on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday each month at 6:30 pm in Room 7/8.
  • There is a new class that was inspired by the 40 Days of Giving last year. It will deal with simple changes that can have an impact on our world. This group meets in room 12 in the lower hallway.

We have plans for several new topics and opportunities starting soon.  Watch the Week to Week, email and Trumpet for more details. You can drop in on any class any week and feel right at home. Check each one out and find the one that fits your interest best. Change classes anytime. It’s a great opportunity to meet new friends and learn something new each week.
